I believe in learning something new every day—whether it's honing your skills, developing a new talent, or learning interesting information about a topic. Education is the foundation of how we operate in the world. The more we learn, the more we can share with others and understand the world we live in.
This past weekend, I decided to take a workshop to start expanding my skills as a hand letterer. Kristie Len of KLJ Desgin Co. lead a wonderful workshop on faux calligraphy and hand lettering on glass at The Lemon Collective in Washington, DC. Kristie is super knowledgeable and offered great tips on how to make a really spectacular piece. Her approach allowed me to slow down and really focus on the details.
My final piece is far from perfect, but I had a great time. I can't wait to continue practicing lettering on glass and seeing where I can take this new skill set.
If you haven't seen Kristie's work, she is a fantastic letterer, and her Instagram is amazing. Also, The Lemon Collective offers wide range of creative workshops for all interests. Take a look their incredible lineup and find your new favorite skill.
