“Is the Meekly Yours blog going to continue?”
After the holidays, I felt worn, creatively spent & in need of a bit of hibernation. In January & February, I took time to refocus on social media, think about where I want Meekly Yours to go, & read up on some best practices in Craft Inc. (which I highly recommend), as well as taking time for a much need break to hibernate & recharge. There’s still so much I’m trying to figure out, but taking a break helped me determine what I need to figure out & how I need to prioritize those to do list items.
“That’s great, but what about the blog!?”
Honestly, writing does not come naturally to me. Finding the right words for my blog posts is challenging & takes significant time away from creating new work, but I still want to keep you updated on news, ideas, recent projects, design tips & more.
For now, I will be sharing a monthly update on blog about what I’m working on, any fun things that happened, shop news & things to look out for. I will also continue spotlighting some of my favorite projects in their own blog posts.
“So, what’s next for Meekly Yours?”
This week, I‘m off to Craftcation (hosted by the amazing team at Dear Handmade Life) where I will be spending four days learning how to improve my business, stretching out my craft skills & connecting with hundreds of other creatives right by the beach in Ventura, CA. I am so incredibly excited & I can’t wait to share my takeaways with you. I even made laser cut & engraved name tags to wear at the conference & order spiffy new business cards to hand out to fellow creatives. If you want to follow along from home, make sure you’re following me on Instagram (I’ll be sharing live updates on Stories), as well as Dear Handmade Life & the official hashtag (#craftcation18).
After Craftcation, I’ll be hitting the ground running to restock for upcoming DC area markets in April, May & June, plan new designs & add takeaways from Craftcation into my process.
Stay tuned. It’s going to be a great year!
