If you have never seen or read How the Grinch Stole Christmas, you are definitely missing out on a holiday classic. The music & animation are delightful, but it's the story I love the most.
With long holiday gift lists, travel plans, big family dinners & endless holiday parties & recitals, it's easy to get caught up in the stuff of Christmas. There's so much pressure on a few short days to be perfect & any setbacks or missteps seem like the ruin of the holidays. That's what the Grinch counted on.
“Christmas will always be as long as we stand heart to heart & hand to hand.” —Dr. Seuss, How the Grinch Stole Christmas
The Grinch took everything he could from the Whos to ruin Christmas. The day certainly couldn't come without the presents, boxes & bags, the raucous noise & the magnificent feast, right? But as dawn broke the Whos were filled not with sorrow, but joy. Joy of a bright Christmas day. Joy of being together. Joy of the song that could never be taken from their hearts. Their joy was so powerful it melted the Grinch’s cold, shriveled heart & brought him joy.
Christmas is a time to generously give, but more importantly to draw loved ones close.
